Miedo a comunicar tus decisiones,
Sobrecarga de tareas,
Ausencia de motivación,
Miedo al despido, al traslado
Liderazgo deficiente,
Responsabilidades poco claras…

THE POWER OF FEAR.
Irrational and logical at the same time, fear accompanies us throughout our lives.
Fear affects our body and mind, and, above all, our behavior, it is easy to arouse and very contagious. Superstitions were born from fear, a source of irrational beliefs and fears, being the fear of death the oldest of all.
Why, of all the emotions, fear is the one that appears with more force in the story?
Because it is very easy to provoke and very quick to induce fear in others to condition their behaviors, in addition, it is long-lasting, since it is not quickly overcome.
All the people who have wanted to direct or control human beings have used, in one way or another, fear. The fears instilled by politics and religion, creating environments of uncertainty and insecurity for the control of citizens and faithful, are an example of how fear has been used throughout history as an instrument to obtain and perpetuate power. .
Fear has been, and is, the most powerful weapon of manipulation throughout the history of mankind.
In the 5.0 society in which we live, technology and scientific advances, some of which are incomprehensible to a large part of the population (cryptocurrencies, metaverse…) have given way to new fears: the economic crisis, new viruses, climate change, the supply of energy and raw materials, war… Everything fills us with uncertainty, therefore, it is called an Intelligent Society, it should not be so only in scientific advances that seek to solve and facilitate the life of the human being, but also, it must be so from the emotional and social intelligence, since we continue to live with fear.
“Fear is a powerful feeling that can be learned, which makes it easy to use.”
Did you know that most of our fears are learned?
Studies carried out with babies showed that people are born with only two innate fears: the fear of falling from high places and the fear of loud noises, all the others are learned fears: abandonment, loneliness, failure, pain. .. They are fears learned throughout our lives both through our own experiences and through the experiences of others, having inherited many of them by being transmitted in families from generation to generation.
Whether we are more or less fearful depends on our genetic predisposition to fear, and this is determined by our character. Throughout life, we learn and develop fears of everything that causes us physical pain, as well as emotional pain: humiliation, guilt, shame, helplessness…
We are extrapolating our fears to the groups to which we belong, the first being the family. A clear example is the tendency towards overprotection of today’s children whose origin lies in the fears of parents in the past.
“Fear and security go hand in hand.”
What happens when we let others induce fear in us?
Fear is used in all spheres of life, in the social, work, family… fear of punishment, fear of abandonment, fear of power. It seems that the more fear we can instill in others, the more control we can exert over them.
The process always begins in the same way: instilling fear, through threats of the future. This fear is the poison that paralyzes the victim little by little, a fearful person ceases to be autonomous, they cannot act on their own or make their own decisions because it is their own fear that dominates them. Fear the consequences.
Thus, the process of manipulation through fear begins by generating great insecurity and uncertainty in a situation, and can also induce guilt, with the intention of manipulating the decisions or behavior of others.
In every crisis, there is always the figure of the dominator and the dominated, who allow themselves to be manipulated by the fear instilled by the former, fear being the best ally to exercise power and control, anticipating negative consequences to later offer security and certainty.
The objective of the one who manipulates us: his own benefit by exercising control over ourselves.
In this process, we are all, to a greater or lesser extent, victims and executioners. We have all exercised it, as parents, educators, couples, friends, bosses or employees. What are punishments for our children if not threats to make them do what we want?
In the family and with the couple, manipulation mechanisms can also be exercised, in cases of domestic violence, the aggressor begins by isolating and breaking the communication of the other, loneliness is used to foment fear along with threats, many domestic fears they are infused to provoke submission. To instill fear it is necessary to isolate, divide and provoke submission through threats, thus promoting fear of the future.
We live our fears when we feel a lack of security in our daily reality.
How do you live fear in your working world?
Fear of communicating your decisions,
task overload,
lack of motivation,
Fear of dismissal, transfer
poor leadership,
Unclear responsibilities…
Fear is a very negative emotion in organizations that influences quality and productivity, leading to a loss of talent and creativity, causing the deterioration of labor relations, the climate and the organizational culture.
How do we not suffer these fears?
Learn to emotionally manage these induced fears, developing the first measure of survival since ancient times: the ability to reinvent ourselves.
For this we must be aware of the real fears and their direct consequences on us. Assess the risks and the cost/benefit ratio, few things are worth living in fear and fear, the price is your quality of life.
Starting by identifying your specific fears, being aware of our most personal fears, those that others can use to manipulate us, can be the first step to ending them.
It is only when we know where they come from that we can begin to manage them, understand them, value them.
Security is a vital need, therefore, fear can make us slaves. Be you who decides to end your fears. Resolve to free yourself from your fears. Liberation comes when we eliminate the stimulus that causes us fear, when we face it and overcome it.
Fear feeds on ignorance and is fought with information. Questioning, reflecting and evaluating are the most effective adaptation strategy.
“It is very difficult to spread love and very fast to spread hate.
We start to hate faster than we start to love.”
